Assessing Professional Portfolios in the Health Sector Full day Workshop
The introduction of the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act (2003) and the Social Workers Registration Act (2003) have both focussed the minds of practitioners on the need to develop and maintain an up to date professional portfolio. Once the portfolio is complete, however, there is a need to evaluate some or all of the information, particularly if this information is being used for salary progression purposes.
This highly interactive practise based full day workshop will introduce participants to context of professional portfolios, the different staff roles in developing the portfolios, establishing criteria and evidence needed to assess the portfolios.
This is a full-day workshop held betwen:
10.00am - 4.00pm
Dates for your diary: 11 November 2008
Venue: Big Rangitoto Room, Level 3
Lab Plus Building
Auckland City Hospital

Supervision for Allied Health Practitioners – from Rhetoric to Reality? Half day Workshop
Engagement in the process of supervision is an important component of allied health practice for many disciplines, made all the more imperative with the introduction of the HPCA (2003) and the SWRA (2003). In addition, supervision is an integral part of professional governance and the commitment to quality service provision for clients, both at an individual and organisational level.
Please note attendees will be restricted to a maximum of 20 participants to allow interactive learning. This is a 3.5 hour interactive workshop available in the afternoon from:
