Capital & Coast, Hawke’s Bay, Hutt Valley, Mid Central, Wairarapa and Whanganui District Health Boards in partnership with Whaiora, Te Hauora Runanga O Wairarapa and Health Sector Conferences are proud to bring you the Central Region DHB Biennial Maori Health Development Conference. Tu Kaha 2010 Looking Ahead: Te Karu Rarapa o te Ika - Our People, Our Strengths, Our Way, promotes and celebrates the success, leadership and strengths of Maori Health Development in the Central Region. This is the second conference in the series which began in 2008 at Palmerston North.

This year we have another great line up of keynote speakers and some exciting new additions to the Tu Kaha conference format. Such as:

Taupatupatu o te Tau (Conference Debate)
A Kia Ora Hauora Rangatahi Programme, has been organised to encourage youth to actively pursue health as a career.
Mātauranga Whakawhenua Stream. Introduced for those wanting to learn more about cultural practices and their relevance to health
Nga Mahi Kumanu (Self Care Activities). As an addition to the Mātauranga Whakawhenua Stream, we are promoting the necessity for self care and have arranged a number of self care culturally - based activites for registered conference delegates. These include Mirimiri (traditional massage) and Ta Moko (Traditional Skin and Body art). Individual access to Ta Moko and Mirimiri activites will be on a koha basis.

Everyone with an interest in Maori Health Development and improving health outcomes for Maori is welcome to attend. So register now! if the last conference is anything to go by, places will go fast.
